What is the name for someone who conducts gel electrophoresis? Like someone who studies sea life is a marine biologist, a person who conducts ultra sounds is an ultra sound tchnician. What is the name for someone who does gel electrophoresis as their career?

Gel electrophoresis is a technique used for the separation of DNA, RNA, or protein molecules, used in forensics, molecular biology, genetics, microbiology and biochemistry. It would be carried out by technician or analysts in each of these areas (forensic laboratory technician, forensic analyst, microbiology technician, etc). However, it is unlikely that many people are employed solely to run gels, it would probably be one of several techniques they would carry out, including for example running polymerase chain reaction (PCR) machines, sequencing, and northern and western blots, and immunoblotting.
My friend has that as one of her duties. Her title is ‘forensic analyst’.
